Algeria has a rich history of traditional agriculture, deeply rooted in its diverse landscapes and centuries-old farming practices. Historically, agriculture in Algeria has been characterized by the cultivation of staple crops such as wheat, barley, and dates, as well as the rearing of livestock like sheep and cattle. Traditional farming methods, often reliant on manual labor and rudimentary tools, have sustained communities across the country for generations.

In recent years, Algeria has embarked on a progressive journey towards the adoption of green technology to enhance the sustainability of its agricultural practices. Recognizing the importance of preserving natural resources and mitigating environmental impact, the Algerian government and agricultural stakeholders have prioritized the integration of innovative technologies and sustainable practices into the farming sector.

Algeria Cluster includes a University, a School of Agriculture and an organic pedagogical farm supported by several companies active in green technology and software development for green.
