EXPAM

EXPAM is the export branch of the GCR Group. Since 1992, it has specialized in the exploitation and processing of aromatic and medicinal plants (extracts of natural substances) from Madagascar. It is a producer and exporter of essential oils and vegetable oils, some of which are ECOCERT certified. The company operates on 1,600 hectares of forests located across various parts of the large island.

The primary plants exploited include:

Essential Oils

– Niaouli Oil: Used in pharmacy, aromatherapy, and alternative medicine. Long known for its effectiveness against flu-like symptoms (even used for young children), it is also recognized for its antiseptic properties against urinary, respiratory, and genital infections.

– Helichrysum Oil: Employed in pharmacy, alternative medicine, and aromatherapy. Notable for its properties against bruises, trauma, insect bites, itching, burns, respiratory issues, and allergies.

– Ravintsara Oil: Known in pharmacy, alternative medicine, and aromatherapy as the most potent and well-tolerated essential oil against bacteria and viruses. Recommended initially at the first signs of flu symptoms (sneezing, stuffy nose, sore throat, headaches), gastroenteritis (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hot or cold sweats), and other infections (herpes, boils, tonsillitis, ear infections, seasonal or chronic allergies, sinusitis). It is excellent for supporting and strengthening the immune system during periods of fatigue, stress, or when the body is weakened, and it also purifies the air to create a healthier, more serene environment and promotes sleep.

– Katrafay Oil (Cedrelopsis): A very invigorating oil used to treat all forms of fatigue and muscle and joint pain.

– Mandravasarotra (Saro or Cinnamosma Fragrans): Effective against bacterial and viral infections, combats fatigue, asthenia, and depression.

Vegetable Oils

– Foraha Oil (Calophyllum): Used to treat acne, wounds and burns, eczema, and shingles.

Plants and Other Extracts

– Spirulina: Considered the best source of protein for humans but also contains many essential nutrients (trace elements, minerals, fatty acids, etc.), used to treat high cholesterol, allergic rhinitis, diabetes, weight loss, and boosts the immune system.

– Moringa: Known as the « tree of life, » it is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, fights malnutrition, supports athletes, stimulates the immune system, and is anti-diabetic.

– Turmeric: A natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.

– Papaya: Used to treat stomach and liver ailments and aids in healing.

– Madagascar Periwinkle: Used to treat hypertension, liver problems, and diabetes, and helps with menstrual pain.

– Aloe from Madagascar: While Aloe Vera is known worldwide, the Aloe species from Madagascar are considered 10 times more effective in food, hygiene, cosmetics, and health, with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumour, healing, and immune-boosting properties.
